We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer in Banking, Financial Services, and Wealth & Investment Management supporting US companies. You will build and optimize data pipelines, develop analytics solutions using SQL, Python, Snowflake, Alteryx, and Tableau, and ensure data quality and governance standards are maintained across all data assets.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, and Alteryx
  • Design and optimize data solutions on Snowflake platform
  • Develop Tableau dashboards and reports for business analytics
  • Ensure data quality through validation, testing, and monitoring frameworks
  • Support data governance policies and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Document data flows, lineage, and metadata standards
  • Manage code repositories using GIT and follow version control best practices
  • Resolve data-related issues and provide production system support
  • Work with analysts, data scientists, and US stakeholders on data initiatives
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions
  • Convert business needs into data solutions
  • Review code and maintain engineering standards
  • Identify opportunities for processing automation and improvement

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Expert-level SQL with query optimization and performance tuning
  • Strong Python programming for data manipulation and ETL development
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake cloud data platform (3+ years)
  • Proficiency in Alteryx for data preparation and ETL workflows
  • Experience creating dashboards and visualizations in Tableau
  • Working knowledge of GIT version control

  • Functional Skills:
  • 3+ years in current role as Data Engineer or Lead Data Engineer
  • Strong data engineering expertise with modern data platforms
  • Deep understanding of data quality and data governance principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Industry Requirements:
  • 10-15 years total experience in data engineering and analytics
  • Mandatory experience with Banking and Financial Institutions supporting US companies
  • Understanding of financial domain and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communication skills for US stakeholder interactions
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of streaming technologies (Kafka, AWS Kinesis)
  • Familiarity with dbt (data build tool)
  • Snowflake or Tableau certifications
  • Experience with data catalog tools (Collibra, Alation)
  • Understanding of DataOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of US banking and investment management regulations (SOX, SEC, FINRA, CCAR)
  • Experience with US Tier 1 banks, wealth management firms, or asset management companies
  • Domain expertise in investment portfolios, advisory services, retirement planning, or client wealth analytics
  • Understanding of wealth management products including mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts, and brokerage platforms
