Overview of the Role

Due to an increasing level of European investments the company currently taken steps to firm-up the infrastructure of our European investment/ investment-service hub in Luxembourg. The company is looking for the position of Finance Manager role which would suite someone that wishes to develop and grow within a Real Estate service and asset management company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Review of property-level financial statements for real estate assets across Europe.

  • Preparation / review of financial statements for Luxembourg entities

  • Participation in preparation / review of consolidated financial statements, including eliminations and consolidations

  • Conversion from Luxembourg GAAP to US GAAP

  • Liaising with the various corporate secretarial / legal teams, with auditors’ pre and during the course of the audit and also with asset management from several countries

  • Cash management of holding entities including payment submission and review on a day to day basis, control activities on European entities’ cash flow and coordination with AP team

  • Support for asset acquisitions and dispositions

  • Review and monitor leases/capital commitments and cash flows with property management.

  • Support for tax filings, Debt compliance and any other compliance reporting as required

  • Recommend appropriate accounting methods and set-ups for new or unusual transactions and assists in analysis of the impact of more complex transactions and strategies related to new investments and business opportunities.

  • Implement new procedural or system changes.

  • Analyse controls and processes, recommending improvements where necessary

  • Gather required financial info to complete financial statements and reports

  • Identify, analyses and resolve variances generated by reconciliation process.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, where applicable

  • Provide supporting documentation for SOX and other (internal) Audit purposes.

  • Potentially supervising / supporting junior colleagues on day-to-day matters

Technical Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Relevant experience of 6 to 8 years; ideally from an in-house role with a Real Estate/PE firm or with a service provider/Big4 audit firm

  • Degree or equivalent in either Accounting or Finance

  • Working knowledge of LUX GAAP and Local Tax regulations

  • Knowledge of Yardi system is advantageous

  • Fluency in English is a must, any other European language would be a plus

  • Ideally conversion experience from Luxembourg GAAP to US GAAP

  • Strong accounting controls experience including: financial statement reviews, cash flow controls, cash repatriation, acquisition/disposition, lease/capital commitment review, tax and audit.

  • Appetite for working in a multilingual environment

  • Detailed knowledge of excel, power query, and motivation of using any technology (such as AI) to create efficiency is advantageous
