The Payroll Manager job reviews payroll calculations to ensure that the organization's payroll processes are functioning properly. Working under limited supervision, this job manages various payroll duties and bookkeeping tasks, while ensuring the quality, integrity and timeliness of payroll reports and other analytical reports.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Reviews the calculation of gross and net pay amounts to ensure accuracy (e.g., salary, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc.).
- Reviews payroll data, production records, and individual attendance records within the HRIS and payroll system, and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of payroll payments.
- Reviews the reconciliation of payroll records (e.g., payments, deductions, general ledger entries for wages).
- Ensures the balance of payroll runs and compliance with related requirements, including minimum wage, local tax rates, and related federal and state regulations.
- Manages employee inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to payroll that require policy interpretation.
- Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.

Position Summary:
The Associate, Global Payroll job is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in compliance with countries regulation. This role involves maintaining payroll records, managing employee queries, and ensuring adherence to payroll policies and procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review the calculation of gross & net pay amounts to ensure accuracy (e.g., salary, timesheets, overtime, shift payments, sales commissions, bonuses, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, payroll liabilities, etc.).
- Review the reconciliation of payroll records (payments, deductions, benefits & taxes) and process the payroll accurately.
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll vendors, addressing issues and inquiries as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulation, National insurance contribution and other statutory requirements.
- Assist in payroll audits and implement improvements to enhance payroll processes.
- Collaborate with HR/Benefits & TA to ensure accurate employee data and facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Perform as a back-up for Payroll team member duties as needed.
- Ensures the balance of payroll runs and compliance with related requirements, including minimum wage, local tax rates, monthly-quarterly-year end activities and related regulations.
- Respond and manage employee inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to payroll that require policy interpretation.
- Coordinates and processes any irregular payments (e.g., One-time payments, bonus payments, Executive deferred Compensation plans etc.) while ensuring compliance and correct tax deductions.
- Perform periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy of Employee pay information.
- Identify, analyse and improve the existing process by recommending and implementing solutions in an innovative and logical manner.
- Maintain the day-to-day relationship with the internal, external payroll partners.
- Performs methodological review of payroll data based on established procedures to ensure payrolls are processed timely and accurately.
- Should be able to work with the business, cross-functional collaboration.
- Work as SMEs to develop and maintain business procedures documents.
- Proficiently resolve payroll accounting related queries / difference working with finance teams.
- Perform as a back-up for Payroll team member duties as needed.
- Assist in planning and overseeing the daily activities of the team.
- Assist payroll managers, generating payroll reports and payroll analysis.
Functional Knowledge:
- 6+ Years of hands-on payroll experience with 4+ years in APAC and EMEA region payroll hands-on experience is a must.
- Proven experience in payroll administration preferably in UK, Singapore, Germany, Luxemburg & Italy will be an added advantage.
- At least 4 years of payroll experience with a proven facility in data entry, customer service and problem resolution.
- Thorough understanding of payroll systems and processes, including knowledge of payroll tax laws, direct deposits, benefits, and deductions.
- Comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills are required.
- Proficiency in various computer software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Sound with excel and Power point skills.
- Profound knowledge in legal compliances affecting India payroll domain.
