The Alternatives Platform Business Manager will provide critical business management and analytical support for Nuveen's private markets product platform. This role serves as a vital partner to private product leadership and cross-functional teams by maintaining product development pipelines, monitoring platform performance indicators, and supporting existing programs and strategic projects that drive growth and efficiencies across the private markets platform. The position requires strong analytical capabilities to generate insights from data, identify process improvements, and project manage initiatives that span multiple business functions including Client Service, Finance, Marketing, Distribution, Legal, and Compliance.

The ideal candidate will bring existing experience in private markets (real estate, private equity, private credit, or similar asset classes) or demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and deepening expertise in this specialized area. Understanding of alternative investment product structures and corresponding lifecycles is preferred. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build deep knowledge of the private market space while developing business management and analytical skills in a dynamic, growing platform.



Key Responsibilities and Duties

Product Pipeline Management

• Partner with product managers to maintain and manage the firm-wide alternative investments product development pipeline, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the product lifecycle

• Coordinate product updates and manage processes to support production of regular Alternatives communications and newsletters 

Analysis & Reporting

• Generate metrics, draft reports, and analyze platform data (financial, operational, performance) to monitor results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities

• Prepare materials and presentations to drive stakeholder engagement, report results, and support decision-making

Program & Project Management

• Manage the Employee Investment Program calendar, provide project management during discrete fundraising windows, and support program expansion initiatives

• Support business management and change management initiatives through structured project management activities, including documenting project plans, risks, issues, and action items

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Understand, maintain, and continuously improve data quality, processes, and procedures to drive scale and efficiency across the platform

• Support the analysis, design, and implementation of new business processes with focus on scalability

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with cross-functional business partners to accomplish platform goals

• Provide excellent communication and coordination across multiple teams to ensure alignment and support execution

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in financial services, business management or consulting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in private markets

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and multi-task under pressure to meet project timelines and drive results

  • Experience in the analysis, design, and implementation of new business processes

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability to influence others

  • Alternative investments product, investor relations, or strategy and operations experience

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite:  Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio

Base Pay Range: $105,000/yr - $145,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
