Alternative Product Solutions Manager, Vice President, Based Singapore/Australia

Role Summary:

The Vice President, Alternative Product Solutions Manager, will develop, structure, position, and implement investment strategies which are intended to serve Nuveen’s Asia Pacific client base. In addition, the Vice President will assess and maintain the competiveness of established products from an investment and business performance perspective.   The Alterative Product Solutions Manager,  will achieve results through idea generation and collaboration with distribution, senior investment management, asset class product leads, legal & compliance, marketing, operations, and finance personnel.

Responsibilities:

• With a focus on supporting the Asia Pacific region, the role will focus on alternative strategies across the wealth and insurance segments

• Creates strategic product plans for the Asia Pacific region.   The plans will evaluate and refine assigned products, investment vehicles, and their distribution, based on financial, internal capabilities, market, and operational considerations; plans will include implementation, marketing and sales components.

• Local expert for product innovation around wrapper types and client trends in order to deliver Nuveen capabilities to investors in the Asia Pacific region.

• With a focus on the insurance and wealth segments, leads structuring of products or accounts, working closely with distribution, global investments, legal, accounting, and client servicing teams.

• Drives overall launch and implementation of new products and sub-advisory services through coordinating cross-functional teams and project management; and will include managing the internal governance and approval process

• Oversees, monitors, and evaluates existing alternative products for performance, style consistency, and profitability; identifies product gaps, as well as other issues and concerns around product management; implements procedures for filling gaps and takes corrective action, including internal development, team lift-outs and acquisitions, while mitigating risks and considering regulatory obligations.

• Serving as the essential bridge between internal teams, external partners (administrator, F/X providers, etc), and our investor base.

• Serves as subject matter expert, providing guidance and detailed product information to distribution and clients for due diligence questions, client servicing, offering memoranda, and other purposes.

• Manage product associate in the region

• Ensures products are compliant with local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

• BA, specializing in finance, investments, law or engineering required.

• 10+ years of direct experience in asset management, preferably working in investment related functions.

• 5 + years of direct experience with structuring investment solutions

• Strong knowledge of alternative asset classes including hedged strategies, private equity, private debt and real assets. 

• Strong client presentation and analytical skills.

• Structuring experience with investment management, either from sell-side/buy-side firm or a reputed law firm.

• Cultural fit and desire to work in a team environment

Preferred:

• Master/PhD in finance, investments, law or engineering preferred.

• Experience with various markets in the region including, but not limited to; Australia, Japan, Korea, China, Singapore and Hong Kong

• Experience with structured solutions for insurance investors

• CFA or CAIA designation preferred.

• Must be self-directed with ability to escalate as needed

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
