Institutional Bus Development
The Institutional Business Development Associate works closely with senior sales professionals and relationship managers, providing day to day support in their sales and relationship management goals. Associates are product generalists as they may support sales teams specializing in assets classes or teams that are product generalists. Working independently under limited supervision, this job assists in identifying target clients, executing product sales and managing client relationships and development.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Works with senior sales and relationship managers by providing sales and relationship management support on a daily basis, and provides services to clients to strengthen relationships to drive continuous service improvements, focusing on asset retention.
  • Coordinates targeted outreach campaigns and assists with additional sales and cross-selling initiatives in the institutional space.
  • Utilizes applications of customer relationship management and business development research for meeting preparation, activity and pipeline capture, to run competitive analysis of products.
  • Utilizes applications such as Sales Force, eVestment Alliance, MMD and Preqin for meeting preparation, activity & pipeline capture, to run competitive analysis of products.
  • Maintains knowledge of the team’s assigned territory business plans, client service plans and marketing campaigns, as well as specialized product knowledge in a single product or product line, in support of sales teams specializing in assets classes or teams that are product generalists.
  • Monitors industry trends and opportunities by reviewing industry publications, and contributes to overall Institutional team with sales and client service ideas, best practices and learned industry knowledge.
  • Partners with colleagues across channels and affiliate investment firms to promote one Nuveen value system and serve shared clients effectively.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

FINRA Registrations

  • SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

Physical Requirements
