Financial Associate, Natural Capital
The Financial Associate will report to the Head of Global Horticulture and will be responsible for certain day-to-day financial modeling, analytical functions and internal reporting. This role will also work closely with Investment Managers that play a crucial role in acquisitions, dispositions and ongoing investment underwriting. This role completes ad-hoc projects as required.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare and update acquisition, disposition and underwriting models in Excel
Generate materials and conduct research for investment proposals and oversight memos
Participate in property due diligence process
Conduct research and analysis to support various ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives
Provide assistance in analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual budget vs. actual reports
Analyze property appraisals, interface with appraisers, maintain appraisal/comp database
Generate and analyze various reports from Yardi accounting system (as requested)
Respond to accounts receivable and property tax inquiries from internal Finance staff
Assist with capturing and updating ESG related items for reporting purposes
Prepare capex memos for various on-farm needs
Preparation of presentation materials (as requested)

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of financial experience preferably in the agriculture industry
- University degree in agriculture, business, finance, economics, accounting or real estate
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite of products of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Previous experience conducting financial analysis, financial modeling, and data management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility for occasional local day travel to farm properties (maybe 2 times per month).
