TIAA is seeking an Enterprise Architect to join our Technology Architecture and Transformation team. The purpose of this role is to lead and drive the design & development of end-to-end Enterprise Architecture including but not limited to Capability Taxonomy, Maturity Model, Value Stream Modeling, Industry Domain Reference Architectures, connecting Strategic Planning to Delivery. The role should provide thought leadership and strategic direction, to influence the overall company strategy and enable architecture for all stakeholders - business, product management, designers and engineering. Working with business stakeholders and internal development teams, the role will ensure the alignment of capabilities with business objectives.



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead development of enterprise capability maps in partnership with business leaders and architects.
  • Drive capability-based planning through the creation of frameworks and operating models.
  • Design and deliver domain and reference architectures from multiple business and technical perspectives.
  • Collaborate with product leaders to evolve capability maturity models and assess current vs. target states.
  • Define architectural principles and technology selection criteria across TIAA platforms.
  • Lead value stream modeling efforts, identifying areas for innovation and value creation.
  • Translate business needs into architectural solutions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Build reusable models that map products and services to platform capabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement of TIAA’s platform architecture across systems and teams.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on platform evolution, cloud strategy, and enterprise transformation.
  • Mentor engineers, analysts, and junior architects to build internal capability.
  • Contribute to annual and long-term planning by aligning capability architecture to business objectives.
  • Promote strong documentation, presentations, and communication of architecture strategy.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred
