The Senior Lead Application Development job is responsible for leading analysis and configuration of end user applications or systems software created by third parties. While working as a thought leader within the department, this job recommends operational strategies and plans that have direct impact on results. This role also influences business decisions made by key leadership associates and business partners.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • This job interacts with executive leadership and others concerning matters of significance to the organization, and makes decisions that have a considerable impact on the overall success of the Workday HCM, specifically Compensation and Advance Compensation modules within Workday, platform. This job manages large projects and is recognized as the Systems expert on the team that solves complex issues that arise.

  • Leads the HCM strategy, with heavy emphasis on Compensation and Advance Compensation modules,  and transformation consulting across people, processes and organizations enabled by technology.

  • Manage teams with multiple work streams, deliverables and aggressive deadlines.

  • Develops strategy and roadmap for delivering innovation and automation while analyzing detailed business requirements and specifications for the application.
  • Configures internally developed applications and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages.
  • Plans application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
  • Maintains relationships with clients while communicating with IT and business management and monitors prompt response and support for technical issues.
  • Receives activity and progress reports regarding applications systems analysis and programming sections.
  • Leads process improvements, cost reduction efforts, tool development to improve the software development and support process in a way that reduces complexity, improves service, and reduces cost.
  • Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience

  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred
