The Analyst, Real Estate Portfolio Management job works to support the implementation and execution of the organization's real estate investment strategy plan, including portfolio construction, market and asset property selection, financing, and making investment recommendations. Working under close supervision, this job is responsible in real estate for assisting with financial analysis, investor reporting and presentations, and prospective investor marketing and due diligence. This job also works closely with real estate teams in acquisitions, asset management, development, and capital markets, as well as the distribution, product, research, finance and marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Initiates extensive proprietary financial models to monitor and analyze the financial performance of the real estate portfolio, potential new investments, and financing.
  • Provides assistance in ongoing property valuations, development of strategies for maximizing value, and creating hold/sell analysis in partnership with the sector focused teams.
  • Works to assess the existing and potential operating characteristics of each real estate and/or property investment (i.e. revenue, expenses, capital expenditures, tenant credit, leases).
  • Collaborates with real estate asset management, finance, and performance measurement teams to obtain portfolio/asset information and draft performance analysis and reports.
  • Helps draft and present investment memorandums to the management committee for review.
  • Initiates industry, real estate market and property-specific research as well as competitive fund analysis.
  • Assists with fund raising and investor relations efforts including: setting and executing capital raising strategy, annual investor conference, advisory committee meetings, due diligence questionnaire (DDQ) and request for proposal (RFP) review, fulfilling investor requests, investor on-site meetings, and ongoing investor relations.
  • Develops relationships with real estate and property management industry experts, strategic partners, investors and fiduciaries to identify industry trends, discover potential capital sources and promote the company's brand.
