Key Roles and Duties
- Support high-impact business initiatives by contributing to meaningful projects that directly support business objectives and client outcomes

- Support a variety of projects by helping to coordinate project materials and meetings to ensure seamless information flow across teams

POSITION SUMMARY:
Actuarial Development Program Interns provide actuarial and related assistance with respect to capital adequacy/financial strength, experience studies, actuarial modeling, asset liability management (ALM), valuation, product development, pricing, and non-guaranteed element determination. This internship is for 10 weeks during the summer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Depending on the particular assignment, the Actuarial Development Program Intern may acquire and apply actuarial skills to perform the following functions:
- Actuarial/risk analyses with respect to the company's actuarial liabilities and capital position to ensure adequate financial strength of annuity and life insurance product lines, as well as overall financial strength of the company.
- Experience studies and assumption development for the annuity and life insurance lines of business.
- Asset and liability modeling and analyses of annuity and life insurance lines of business including financial projections and stress testing.
- Various ALM projects such as economic scenario generation, duration analysis, and interest rate stress testing.
- Valuations of actuarial reserves and liabilities.
- Asset adequacy testing and analyses of annuity and life insurance lines of business.
- Development of annuity products and policyholder illustrations; determination of non-guaranteed elements such as crediting rates and dividend scales.
- Other business functions including plan pricing support, risk management and potentially others.
Qualifications - External Required Skills:
- Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Expected Graduation date between December 2026– June 2028
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
Preferred Skills:
- At least one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam passed
- Pursuing degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

The role offers a competitive hourly rate of $30 per hour.
