As a part of TIAA’s Retail & Institutional Financial Services business, TIAA Bank, a division of TIAA, FSB, provides full-service, nationwide banking and lending services to consumer, commercial and institutional clients through a variety of channels, including online, its Florida-based financial centers and at other business offices throughout the country.

 

The Credit Officer will manage the credit review and approval process and ensure its conducted efficiently with timely responses in a cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Handle large transactions which require complex and unique transaction structures
• Develop and implement training plans to ensure required competency levels
• Provide support to sales force and platform managers
• Documentation review and administration up to individual credit authority
• Process appeals and changes to original decisions
• Review financial condition of vendor, dealer and / or customer
• Provide coaching and training of credit staff
• Credit Authority-$1MM

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Strong knowledge of bank credit rating and modeling systems
• Analytical with proven ability to convert large amounts of data into meaningful recommendations.
• Solid working knowledge of Excel
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from various levels of management
• Strong and demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects under pressure and complete them on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to train, coach and lead a credit team
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Workout knowledge and/or prior experience a plus


TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or finance or equivalent in experience. MBA a plus.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a credit analyst, 2 years in commercial credit, preferably with demonstrated increasing levels of signing authority
• Previous supervisory responsibilities a plus
