POSITION SUMMARY:

    

TIAA’s 2020 Summer Internship Program is an enriching opportunity for college students who want to supplement their academic preparation with a challenging work experience as they launch their professional careers.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Under the general direction of the Head of Federal Government Relations, the successful candidate will work with our registered lobbyists and learn firsthand about working with the Congress, the Administration, federal agencies, and major trade associations.
  • In this role, he or she will help analyze and research key legislative, regulatory, and policy issues in the financial services space.
  • The selected individual will work collaboratively with Government Relations colleagues and enterprise-wide business partners to assist in the development of substantive policy positions that accurately represent the goals of the organization.

 

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Skills:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Baccalaureate/Master’s program majoring in Political Science, History, Economics, or have a minor in Government studies.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Must have political experience, or political internship experience in Washington D.C.
  • Must have experience in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Desired Skills:  
  • Rising juniors and seniors preferred as this role will not become full-time beyond the internship.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.  
  • Very Strong communication skills.  
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on commitments in a fast paced environment.  
  • Intellectually curious, innovative, collaborative, team player, adaptive and results oriented.
