POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is on the Brand Management Team, which sits within TIAA Marketing and reports to the Senior Director of Brand Management. The Brand Management Team is responsible for ensuring a consistent brand look, feel, voice, and tone across all communication and distribution channels.  The broad scope of communication and distribution channels includes digital, print, social media, video, advertising, and live events reaching participants, plan sponsors, asset managers, prospects and employees.  The Brand Management Team accomplishes this in part by establishing and communicating brand standards, training, managing brand assets, conducting brand reviews and overseeing trademark and domain protection.

 

We are seeking a Senior Associate to be a passionate advocate for the TIAA brand; responsible for helping drive brand consistency across all channels as well as helping to build a brand culture within the organization.

 

This person’s will become an expert in the brand and will aid in brand reviews to ensure adherence to our brand and will identify and escalate brand issues to senior members of Brand Management Team. They will work closely with key internal stakeholders and external agencies to help create consistency across customer, product and media channels.

 

A primary responsibility of this role is to oversee ongoing brand governance execution, including monitoring web activity and working with external vendors and internal partners to manage trademark and domain protection.

 

This person will maintain the brand intranet site and manage the brand inbox, responding to questions regarding our brand standards. Responsibilities also include updating and maintaining the brand asset library including photography, illustrations and iconography.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 

 
  • Conduct timely reviews of new marketing and communication pieces for brand alignment (print, digital, video, social)
  • Maintain internal facing employee website to drive engagement with the brand
  • Monitor web activities as part of protection/governance program and support brand infringement process with external vendors and internal partners
  • Manage Brand inbox and liaison with other areas of the company to address brand content questions
  • Work with Marketing Operations including producers, creative designers, and writers, as well as the Communications team, UX, product managers, agency partners and other key stakeholders to translate our brand voice, tone, look and feel into effective online and offline communications

 

Required Skills
  • BA/BS
  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing and/or communications
  • Able to manage multiple high priority tasks or projects     
  • Proficient with writing and editing skills
  • Design and/or content/editing skills
Preferred Skills
  •  Agency and/or In-house/corporate Marketing/Creative Services; content creation; editorial; digital; financial services brand execution/management
  • Experience designing/writing for the web
  • Fluency in all types of print and digital media, including social, video and native content
  • Brand asset library management (photography, iconography, illustrations, video, etc.)
  • Understanding of risk management practices
  • Ability to Influence
  • Strong attention to detail
