POSITION SUMMARY:


We are currently seeking a results-oriented Analyst / Sr. Analyst to join the Nuveen Strategy & Administration Team. The team is responsible for the design and execution of Nuveen’s strategic planning process, including competitive landscape, goal setting, execution, and monitoring of results. This role supports cross-Nuveen execution of all steps of the strategic planning process (e.g., strategy formation, strategy execution, monitoring, communication), including communicating process steps and timelines to stakeholders. It involves working closely with partner organizations, such as Finance, Technology, and Operations, on the strategic planning process.


This role interacts with senior leadership across the company. Through engagement across the organization, the Analyst/Senior Analyst will develop a deep understanding of the asset management industry, Nuveen operating model, and drivers of long-term financial success.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


Strategic Planning and Projects

·        Working with the Strategy & Administration Team, support the creation of the annual strategic planning cycle/calendar for Nuveen, in alignment with and in support of the TIAA annual planning cycle

·        Prepare analysis and materials for strategic planning discussions with Nuveen and TIAA business leaders, board of directors, and other stakeholders

·        Assist in managing and executing strategic projects on a wide range of topics such as strategic change management and new business and product initiatives

·        Perform analyses including market analysis, competitor intelligence, and financial modeling to support strategic projects


Management Reporting

·        Assist in, and eventually take ownership of, executive reporting deliverables such as quarterly dashboards, strategic initiative updates, and other ad-hoc reporting

·        Drive tracking of firm-wide priorities and initiatives, resulting from the strategic planning process

·        Create and populate reporting templates in Excel and PowerPoint, and maintain repository of final management reports and templates

·        Coordinate meetings with stakeholders to gather data and metrics from across the company, and summarize & synthesize results for leadership presentation

·        Conduct external research to identify appropriate industry benchmarks for key performance metrics

·        Build and maintain a repository of management reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills

·        Bachelor degree required

·        Minimum 1 year of work experience with strategic planning, project management, public accounting, or consulting, preferably within Financial Services/Asset Management

Preferred Skills

·        Financial services and/or asset management experience preferred

·        Experience coordinating corporate-wide programs, such as communicating process standards and timelines, and holding check-in meetings

·        Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint advanced proficiency

·        Ability to problem solve with high attention to detail and accuracy

·        Ability to comprehend, compose and develop general business materials such as correspondence and presentation materials

·        Ability to create presentation materials for executive-level audiences

·        Proactive self-starter who will take initiative and work efficiently

·        Requires ability to interact professionally with senior leaders and maintain confidentiality
