POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This role is responsible for leading and managing the Institutional Client Marketing team to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies supporting Nuveen’s US Institutional business.  The MD will demonstrate solid subject matter expertise of the institutional investor and sales process.  The Institutional Client Marketing team is the main interface to the Institutional Distribution teams, responsible for audience segmentation and strategic campaigns designed to acquire, develop and retain clients.  The role will be deeply involved with building a best in class institutional client experience in partnership across the Nuveen Advisory Services organization.  Position will report to the Head of Client and Product Marketing.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 

  • Play critical role in defining the Nuveen institutional client experience and spearheading multiple complex projects aimed at improving it.
  • Build marketing strategies in partnership with Distribution aimed at acquiring, developing and retaining clients utilizing traditional as well as segmentation, marketing automation, digital and social methods
  • Influence and create sales feedback loop as it relates to marketing and lead activity
  • Collaborate with brand, design, content, product and digital teams to execute and measure marketing initiatives and ensure proper alignment of resources
  • Manage and coach team members to execute objectives in alignment with the marketing strategy
  • Create opportunities to showcase capabilities, provide access to investment decision makers, and build brand confidence across multiple marketing mediums
  • Serve as the senior marketer directing and informing on institutional business strategy to the rest of the marketing organization


 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS required
  • Minimum 10 years of institutional marketing experience required

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • Financial services experience strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of the institutional investor audience and client experience

·        Adept at leveraging data and technology to establish holistic marketing strategies and fine-tuned client engagement plans

  • A balance of creative and analytical thinking
  • Experience with alternative asset classes and products
  • Proven track record of building and executing targeted marketing campaigns in partnership with Sales that deliver results
  • Ability to take initiative to implement necessary tactics to successfully execute strategic programs
  • Ability to build relationships and influence across a large, matrixed organization
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, deadline driven environment
  • Willingness to learn or adopt new platforms and approaches.
  • In depth understanding of the asset management industry
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, communicate progress and effectively track deliverables to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficient in marketing technology platforms
