Position Summary:

 

TIAA is seeking a Java Technical Lead candidate to lead enterprise automation, hands-on architecture, and development of micro services and web applications.  Ideal candidate for the technical lead role is a motivated, life-long learner seeking an opportunity to operate like a high growth Fintech within a mission-driven financial services company.  Candidate should be extremely proficient with middleware and data driven applications, and possess advanced problem solving skills.   

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and can deep dive into source code as well as take a position on broader architecture decisions.  Problem solving is key with the ability to utilize creative and innovative thinking.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide leadership in the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services
  • Support Agile development and sprint cycles with close partnerships with business and operational teams
  • Develop proof of concepts to learn or fail quickly on new design ideas
  • Contribute to Roadmap, Strategy and Architecture
  • Responsible for design of Integration framework for real-time integration with internal systems and external cloud apps
  • Responsible for creating/following approved enterprise design patterns
  • Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate challenges at daily stand-ups
  • Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitate Code Reviews

 



Requirements

 

  • 7+ years of software development and design experience with Java or .NET development technologies
  • 4+ years of development experience in SOAP and Rest based services
  • 4+ years of development experience using Eclipse or Spring Tool Suite
  • 1+ Webservices development experience using Spring Boot
  • 1+ or more years of Microservices development experience
  • Financial Services or retirement industry experience

 

Preferences

  • Experience with Oracle or MongoDB
  • Experience in AWS or Azure, Docker Open shift Containers
  • Excellent knowledge of integration patterns
  • Strong background of multiple successful implementations
  • Strong practical deployment knowledge of JAVA apps with Mulesoft
  • Experience with continuous build using GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Nolio
  • Bachelor’s degree
