POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Solution Architect is responsible for the design and delivery of a new annuity solution using OIPA. This position is permitted to sit out of our Iselin, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices only.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead the development of the architecture and design of complex/multiple LOB level solutions

  • Lead business solutions to have an enterprise perspective and support EA strategies and roadmaps

  • Lead in the development and promotion of enterprise architecture strategy

  • Lead in the implementation of continuous improvement to infrastructure, application, data and security architecture(s)

  • Possess a strong understanding of relevant business and technical domains providing thought leadership to the technical architectures and architecture roadmaps

  • Create application, infrastructure, data and security design patterns, reference architectures, architecture recommendations and roadmaps

  • Create and manage the evolution, refinement and optimization of the enterprise wide application portfolio

  • Present solutions and lead/influence in the architecture governance process ensuring solution conformance to domain and enterprise architecture direction

  • Lead key technical architectural frameworks like the Application Portfolio Model, Target State Architectures and Technology Roadmaps

  • Collaborate closely with business and IT leaders to understand and implement the program level solutions

  • Create/Lead in the technology evaluations and technology proof of concepts to address business challenges and opportunities

  • Coordinate the engagement and alignment of Project/Technology initiatives with the Security Team, Risk Team, the Data Architecture Team, the Project Team, the Enterprise Architecture Team, the Production Services Team, Strategic Sourcing and other SME individuals / teams on all Projects/Programs and Technical Evaluations

  • Lead role in collaborating closely with Project/Program personal to understand desired business outcomes, so that proper Architecture documentation can be created

  • Create or update the Current State Diagrams generated from Project/Program engagement

  • Create the Architecture Impact Assessment (AIA), present to the Integrated Services Impact Review (ISIR) meeting for Project/Program initiatives

  • Create the Solution Definition Document (SDD), present to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for Project/Program initiatives

  • Create or assist the Tech Lead in creating the the Application Flow Diagram, present or assist the Tech Lead in presenting to the Infrastructure Design Council (IDC) for Project/Program initiatives

  • Create or Update any Pattern Documents that were identified during the Project/Program as being required

  • Lead role in the Technology Evaluations and Technology POCs to address business challenges and opportunities, including developing evaluation criteria and RFP questions

  • Create the Technical Evaluation documentation, perform POC or collaborate with technical / project team to review POC results, present Technical Evaluation objectives/results to the ISIR and to the ARB

  • Attend the ARB and perform voting responsibilities ensuring solution conformance to Domain and Enterprise Architecture direction

  • Lead or contribute to the following architectural deliverables: Application Portfolio Models, Target State Architectures, Technology Roadmaps

  • Create Recommendation Documents to provide points of view related to Technology and Architecture direction

  • Present key architectural information to Future State Technology Architecture (FSTA) for decisioning as needed

  • NEW in 2016: Perform evaluation of existing products/technologies before license renewal

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:
  • 3 or more OIPA architecture and delivery experience
  • 4 or Java/ J2EE experience
  • Oracle Database
Desired Skills:
  • XML, XSLT, PL/SQL
  • Financial Services industry experience, Annuity and Insurance specifically
